XConnect receives 2009 NGN Leadership Award from NGN magazine
Global Alliance Honored for Outstanding Innovation
LONDON - April 21, 2009 - XConnect, the VoIP and Next Generation Network (NGN) peering leader, announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) has named the Global Alliance as a recipient of the First Annual NGN Leadership Award presented by its publication, NGN.
The Global Alliance is XConnect's core NGN-peering offering and the world's largest ENUM-based IP-peering federation. With more than 100 members, it enables IP service providers to exchange voice and multimedia traffic across an IP-to-IP global network within the secure XConnect network environment. Benefits include lower termination costs, higher call quality, simplified operations, and ability to offer advanced services on an all-IP basis.
The NGN Leadership Award has been established to recognize outstanding achievement in the IP Communications community, including outstanding products, services and technologies relating to IMS and NGN environments.
"XConnect is delighted to receive this prestigious award," said Eli Katz, XConnect CEO and founder. "The award reflects the innovative approach XConnect has taken to address the challenges IP-enabled service providers face in creating and managing NGN interconnect agreements. The Global Alliance provides a neutral, trusted and secure interconnection hub, allowing service providers to easily identify and interconnect to global partners based on the business models and policies they choose."
"XConnect has been recognized for exceptional work in advancing IMS and NGN services and technologies, and we honor the Global Alliance with an NGN Leadership Award," stated Rich Tehrani, president of TMC. "With the significant growth in next generation network technologies, receiving this award distinguishes XConnect as a leader in the industry."
The 2009 NGN Leadership Award winners will appear in the May/June issue of NGN.
