XConnect appoints Dr. Paul Reynolds to its Board of Directors

Architect of British Telecom's 21CN All IP Communications program, former CEO of BT Wholesale and CEO of Telecom New Zealand to advise global innovator of Federated IP Communication Interconnection Services

Dr. Reynolds served as CEO of British Telecom (BT) Wholesale and BT board member from 2001 to 2007. Dr. Reynolds was the principal leader of the pioneering 21CN project, a transformational $20 Billion initiative to replace BT's PSTN (public switched telephone network) infrastructure with a state of the art IP / NGN architecture, laying the foundation for the new generation of IP multimedia and advanced communication services.

Dr Paul Reynolds was appointed Chief Executive of the Telecom New Zealand - Telecom Group last year. His previous role was as CEO of BT Wholesale in the United Kingdom. Paul joined BT in 1983 after completing a doctorate in geology at the University of London. He has had a distinguished career, encompassing senior leadership roles in sales and marketing, strategy, information systems, broadband and guiding BT's wholesale business through the complex process of operational separation, when Openreach was created. He served on BT's Board of Directors from 2001. In 2006, the Telecommunications Industry Association of America awarded him its 'Global Icon' award for his leadership and innovation.
